Liverpool Mountain by Swiss artist Ugo Rondinone is his first UK installation. Inspired by naturally occurring spires of rock, the colourful 10-metre high sculpture occupies Mermaid Courtyard, outside Tate Liverpool.
Rondinone is widely known for his temporary, large-scale land art sculpture, Seven Magic Mountains, which is located across the desert south of Las Vegas, Nevada until 31 December.
Liverpool’s outdoor pieces marks a variety of key cultural milestones: the 10th anniversary of Liverpool European Capital of Culture, the 20th anniversary of Liverpool Biennial and the 30th anniversary of Tate Liverpool.
From 23 October. Find out more here.
