Infinite Worlds

Infinite Worlds

Sound is at the centre of Nicolas Bernier’s practice, which investigates the transmediality of photography, moving images, design, dance, theatre, visual art and technology. Over the last decade, this artistic approach has given tangibility to sound by creating performances and installations that interface sound composition with visual art, design, light, movement and scenography. The work Structures Infinies is shortlisted for the Aesthetica Art Prize 2019.

The artist notes: “Between the finite and the infinite, these mirror structures reflect the outside world until they are set in motion to unveil a moving and infinite inside world. These structures arise as objects depicting our never-ending scientific apprehension of the world. Part of an ongoing series, this first structure is based on the Feynman Diagrams about quantum fields.”

See the piece as part of the Aesthetica Art Prize Exhibition, opening 8 March-14 July. Find out more here.
