A Survey of Photography: Aesthetica at Frieze London with Editor Cherie Federico and Artist Marcus Lyon

This year at Frieze London there is an opportunity to hear directly from the Editor of Aesthetica Magazine, Cherie Federico, and artist Marcus Lyon who will discuss the changing face of photography in the digital world. Post-Analogue Photography in the Digital Age will take place on Friday 16 October from 4.30pm as part of Frieze London’s new concept to create a space for visitors to browse and experience a curated selection of the world’s best arts publications.

Aesthetica Magazine is world-renowned for its high impact photography and minimal design, and has featured photo-essays by emerging and influential artists such as Richard Tuschman, Stephen Shore, Emily Shur and Todd Hido. Federico will share her passion for contemporary photography, and introduce the process behind selecting image features for publication.

Marcus Lyon was selected for exhibition in the Aesthetica Art Prize 2015 with his Exodus series, a collection of pre-visualised images that observe and comment on mass consumption and urbanisation on a global scale. Lyon will reveal his technique and will consider the challenges in making powerful and distinct images in an ever-evolving multimedia landscape, drawing upon his works that are produced at his award-winning studio, The Glassworks.

The talk will take place at 4.30pm – 5pm on Friday 16 October in the Reading Room at Frieze London.
