A Personal Protest

A Personal Protest
No Man’s Land, a body of work by Iranian-American artist Darvish Fakhr, is inspired by the story of Darvish Esfandiarpour, an Iranian farmer who was forced into poverty as a result of “White Revolution” land reforms. Hanging heavy stones from dead trees as a response, Esfandiarpour showed a unique form of resistance. The exhibition at Asia House, London, examines ideas of space, boundaries and the tensions caused by power imbalance.
